Since the late 1980s, SLAs have been used by fixed-line operators. Today, ALS is so widespread that large organizations have many different ALSs within the company itself. Two different units in an organization script an ALS, one unit being the customer and another the service provider. This helps maintain the same quality of service between different units of the organization and in several sites within the organization. This internal ALS script also compares the quality of service between an internal service and an external service provider. [4] SLA is synonymous with The Service Level Agreement,It is a legally binding agreement between Business and its service provider. It contains a list of the services offered by the provider, as well as inclusions, exclusions and exceptions. It also contains KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure penalties applicable when service levels are not met. It is an integral part of every contract – must be carefully designed and agreed upon by sellers and partners. Service level agreements benefit both parties by providing absolute clarity on what can be expected from the business relationship.

The key to the success of a service level contract lies in the metrics used to determine whether the service provider is meeting its bargain end. It`s worth remembering the old saw „You`re going to get what you measure.“ IT is believed that ALS comes from network service providers, but is now widely used in a number of information technology areas. Some examples of industries that create ALS are IT and managed service providers, as well as IT and Internet service providers. Everyone has a different view of good service, but alS makes the customer`s voice ring loud and clear: that`s the level of quality they expect. Despite the flexibility it offers both parties in negotiating rights and responsibilities, the breach of a level of service agreement has consequences similar to that of breach of contract. That`s why it`s important for service providers to be equally careful that their alS compliance is up to date. Understanding the service level structure and structure of service level agreements gives you an advantage if it helps you deliver on your promises. The ability to create and manage service solutions ensures that your business and its customers are able to communicate more clearly to meet reciprocal requirements.
